Division Annual Meeting, Saturday, June 13 E-mail

Recently you should have received an invitation to our Division Annual Meeting. The meeting will be held June 13th at the Northwest Fencing Center, at approximately 4pm, at 4950 SW Western Ave., Beaverton, OR 97005 (the date of the Annual Meeting is not the 12th, as stated in the letter which just was mailed out.)

Agenda items for the Annual Meeting include:
1. Call to Order
2. Discussion and request to approve minutes from last year’s meeting
3. Any other additions to the agenda
4. Brief report on accomplishments of the 2014-2015 season
5. Treasurer’s Report (financial overview of year, and budget for 2015-2016 year)
6. Board Election (details below)
7. Proposed schedule of Division-hosted events for 2015-2016 and call for clubs to submit dates for sanctioned tournaments during the coming season.
8. Comments from the floor

Board Election. The Division seeks candidates for the positions of Division Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary, who will serve two-year terms along side our Executive Vice Chair and Treasurer. To be eligible to run for office or to vote, you must be at least 18 years of age and an Oregon Division USFA member (all classes) as of February 1, 2015.

Other areas where you can help. In addition to board officers, we also seek other volunteers. Maybe you’d like to search the Internet for items of interest to the general division membership to update our Facebook page. If you have website skills, our IT guy/webmaster can use help. If you are familiar with the USFA website or Athlete’s Handbook, maybe you can respond to people contacting the board, asking about qualification to national events and other questions. Some of our Division clubs need representatives to sit on the division board. And of course, three or four times a year, we need volunteers to help run our RYCs and qualifiers, be it helping with registration or checking equipment or preparing medals.

The Oregon Division is a great one. We invite you to have fun lending a hand so that our division continues to run smoothly now and in the coming year.
